Bottleworks Hotel

A former Coca-Cola bottling plant reimagined.

About Bottleworks Hotel

The Yuncker brothers, Lee and James, commissioned the construction of the Mass Ave masterpiece and started bottling the bubbly soft drink here in the 1920s. The unique architecture, stunning interiors and state-of-the-art equipment quickly established the plant’s place both in the community and in the bottling industry.

The Roaring Twenties were marked with jazz music, Prohibition and Art Deco, which can be seen in the hotel’s restored architecture today. The bottling plant continued to thrive through the Great Depression and for years after. At its peak, the factory on Mass Ave produced over 2 million bottles of soda per week.

The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Indianapolis filled its last glass bottle in 1964 when the plant moved to Speedway, IN, after Indianapolis Motor Speedway owner Tony Hulman purchased the franchise.
