After my first 4.5 women's doubles outing and playing ALL day in the hot sun and pulled out a gold, we were craving BBQ and luckily Hawg Wild BBQ is a quick drive across the street from the pickleball courts. A plate of 1/2 BBQ chicken with coleslaw and beans hit the spot. I devoured every bite. This restaurant is locally owned and operated by James Reaux a local pickleballer!
I took a clinic with Scott (and Jon) in Peachtree City , GA in 2017. It was incredible. The clinic was focused and geared appropriately to our group and our level of play. Each segment of the clinic was so well done and purposeful. You know how sometimes you can walk away from a day of learning or instruction and just be more confused . . . THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN. I has such clarity and several great take aways that simplified my game. Both Scott and Jon are fantastic and they have a calm and fun teaching style. Highly recommend a clinic or any form of instruction from Scott.
From the moment you got to the venue you felt like you were at a special event. From the larger than life banners featuring the top pros to the pro-shop to the post pickleball beer van -- this place had almost everything you could dream of at a tournament. The venue itself is spectacular and the center court that the PPA had redone was incredible. The ONLY two drawbacks is that we couldn't bring in chairs so in between matches I was sitting on the ground or on rocks and the very back courts that were practice courts are great for practice courts, but too tight to comfortably play matches on. Overall a fantastic experience. This is a must go to tournament every year.
If you visit NYC without eating bagels and za (or pie as they call it in NYC) then we aren’t sure this relationship is going to work (unless you have a real reason not to, like an allergy). 🥧 🤧 ⠀ ⠀ Listen, we are not going to act like we know EXACTLY where THE best bagel or THE best Pie in NYC is, because there are SO MANY PLACES to get these tiny delectables and likely more than one winner in these high-prized categories. 🍕 🥯 🏆 ⠀ ⠀ We will tell you that when we were in NYC we happened upon a very long line and upon further inspection realized it was a place of business with a sign that read “Best Bagels & Coffee.” When we see a self-proclaiming “best” sign with a line behind it — we did what smart people in search of anything that is the best do and we got in line too. 45 minuets later we were eating the best bagels of our lives. Cue the opposite of dramatic music. ⠀
There are lots of great bars to go to in NYC, but we just happened upon Bar Moxie before we even new about Moxie hotels. This place is cool and definitely worth popping in for a drink. Cool vibe, comfortable seating/couches and good drinks.
There are so many great shows on Broadway that it can be hard to choose. We heard from a friend this was hilarious so we opted for Beetlejuice and it did not disappoint. We were belly laughing the entire time. The cast was fantastic, set was super and we were pretty far back and still felt like we had a great view of the set. Highly recommend.
Go during the day for a crowded stroll around this beautiful park. OR do what we did and sit on a bench and people watch!
